J.J. Abrams has dropped more hints that he wants to be involved in directing a Superman film.
The director of this year’s staggeringly good Star Trek reimagining told MTV News that despite his new Superman script going to waste when the project was dropped, he still holds a torch for Clark Kent. Abrams said: “Writing that script was a long process. It was a very passionate character for me. As a kid growing up it meant a lot to me. It would be wonderful and fun to see that brought back.
“I don’t know what Warners is thinking or what their plan is. It would be a blast.”
The DC Entertaiment franchise was revived with 2006’s Superman Returns, but Warner Bros dropped the idea for any more when they deemed the box office disappointing. We think anything Abrams turns his hand to is pretty magical, so if the man wants to do it, let him.
