The European Film Awards took place this weekend, with The White Ribbon the big winner on the night.
Michael Haneke was present in the German city of Bochum to collect best film, best director and best screenwriter for his black and white masterpiece. Kate Winslet wasn’t on hand at the ceremony to pick up her best actress award for her role in The Reader, with director Stephen Daldry accepting on her behalf. Tahar Rahim was named best actor for his breakthrough performance in A Prophet, which hits UK cinemas in January.
