It’s a week to go before The Wolfman is released, and I can’t wait to see Benicio Del Toro take on the classic role.
Joe Johnston’s faithful reworking of the original Universal horror takes place in Victorian England. Oscar winner Del Toro plays nobleman Lawrence Talbot, who returns to his estranged father Sir John (Anthony Hopkins) when his brother vanishes. Helping him is his brother’s fiancée Gwen (Emily Blunt), and when Lawrence discovers the horrific werewolf curse that has affected the village, the tortured soul must fight to protect the woman he now loves.
The period detail and fine cast can only be helped by the masterful make-up work from Rick Baker, the genius who made American Werewolf in London so painfully real.
